Sunday 1st January 2023 – 11.00am.  3 + 1 miles.
South Oxhey Circular Walk.

Meeting point: Oxhey Woods Car Park, The Woods, South Oxhey.  The postcode is HA6 3EX.
Bring a snack if you wish. Complimentary mince pies and complementary mulled wine will be served at the end of the 3 miles. Please book in advance with the walk leader so that we can ensure that there will be adequate provision of refreshments and car parking.

A circular walk around South Oxhey.  Optional extension along the sculpture trail in Oxhey Woods after the mince pies.


Sunday 22nd January 2023 – 10.00 am.  6 miles.
London Isle of Dogs Guided Walk.

Meeting point: Stanmore Underground Station (at the top of the steps) at 10am.
Bring a picnic if you wish.

Starting at East India DLR at 11:00 we walk around a relatively new suburb of London with views of the Millennium Dome and taking in an urban farm. We walk part of the Thames walk with views of Greenwich. There is a suitable cafe for a coffee stop at the half way point of the walk. The walk ends with some surprising green areas near Canary Wharf . The walk finishes at Canary Wharf.

Circular Walk from Bushey Heath to Stanmore Country Park and back.

Meeting point: The Rutts car park, High Road, Bushey Heath. The postcode is WD23 1LH

Discover or re-discover Pillow Mound, Brewer’s Ponds, Spring Pond, Caesar’s Pond, the London Viewpoint, Grim’s Ditch, Pear Wood, Forty Acre Pit, Summerhouse Lake and the Master Oak.


Sunday 12th March 2023 – 10.20 am for the 10:41 train.  6 miles.

Berkhamsted Waterways Walk.
Meeting point: Bushey Railway Station at 10:20 for the 10:41 train straight through to Berkhamsted arriving at 10:56.  It stops at Watford Junction at 10:44.
Bring a picnic and something to sit on.

A flat walk along the Grand Union Canal to Bridge 146.  Then it gets a bit hilly going along lanes, through farmland and woodland, and under the A41 twice to return to the station through the town.  In total the climb up (and down) is 236ft.  Some may like to visit the ruins of the Norman Motte and Bailey Berkhamsted Castle with its unique double moat opposite the station.  It is run by English Heritage.
NOTE:  the train times are different from the published programme.  There are no toilet facilities except at the beginning and end of the walk at the Berkhamsted station toilets on platform 4

Shenley Park Walk: Route 5.

Meeting point:  Shenley Park car park, Radlett Lane, Shenley.  The postcode is WD7 9DW.

Admire stately homes on an eight mile countryside stroll around Shenley Park with refreshments available at the De Havilland Aircraft Museum
Note 10.00 am start time is earlier than previously advertised.

Whippendell Woods.

Meeting point: Whippendell Woods Car Park, Grove Mill Lane, Chandler's Cross, Rickmansworth. The postcode is WD3 4NA.

The walk winds through ancient woods which were once part of the Cassiobury Estate.  We cross the West Herts Golf Course and follow the river through Cassiobury Park before going back along the Grand Union Canal to the weir.  Then we cross the golf course again before going through more woodland to return to the car park. There may still be bluebells in the woods, but these are not guaranteed.


Sunday 11th June 2023 – 11.00am.  6 miles.
Circular Walk from Oxhey to Moor Park and back.

Meeting point:  By the bridge in Riverside Park, Oxhey, opposite the junction of Colne Avenue and Riverside Road.  The nearest postcode is WD19 4HU

Along the Ebury Way to Tolpits, then to Moor Park and back to Oxhey via Sandy Lodge Golf Course and Hamper Mill.


Wednesday 21st  June 2023 – 7.00pm.  2 ½ miles.
Midsummer Solstice Circular Walk through Finch Lane fields.

Meeting point: The end of Finch Lane by the allotments. The postcode nearby is WD23 3AL.

A pleasant evening stroll through the fields of Bushey.


Wednesday 5th July 2023 – 10:45 for 11.00am.  3.1 miles.
Bushey Festival Walk through Merryhill fields.

Meeting point: Next to the pond at St James’ Church, Bushey High Street. The postcode is WD23 1BD.

A pleasant walk through a Bushey Churchyard and into Merryhill Fields.


Sunday 9th July 2023 – 10:45 for 11.00am.  5.3 miles.
Bushey Festival Walk to Letchmore Heath.

Meeting point: The Café in King George Recreation Ground, Chiltern Avenue.  The postcode is WD23 4RF.

A walk via country paths and Elstree Aerodrome stopping in the charming village of Letchmore Heath. This is a little longer than listed in the programme.

Fishers Field and River Colne Walk.

Meeting point: By the Porcelanosa showroom, Otterspool Way (Service Road), Watford.

Walk Bushey footpaths 1, 2, 3 and 4 to view the award winning nature reserve at Fishers Field and the River Colne along the Bushey boundary.

Circular Walk from Watford Bypass to Munden Ford and back.

Circular Walk from Letchmore Heath to Kendal Wood and back.

Meeting point:  The Three Horseshoes, The Green, Letchmore Heath. The postcode is WD25 8ER.

From Letchmore Heath we go down to Elstree Aerodrome, then past Aldenham School and across Roman Watling Street to the Picnic Field. We return via three dells.

Green Street and Buckettsland

Meeting point : Abbots Place, off Cowley Hill, Borehamwood. The postcode is WD6 5QP.

Walk from Green Street to the A1 (!) through surprisingly open countryside. This is usually a muddy walk and we do go through fields with horses in.


Sunday 10th December 2023 – 10.30am.  6 miles.
Harrow School and Harrow-On-The-Hill.

Meeting point:  Behind Northwick Park Hospital at the junction of Norval Road and The Fairway, Wembley. ****The postcode HA0 3SZ takes you to the junction of Norval Road and The Fairway. A few metres from there is Northwick Park which has a car park as part of the Northwick Park Sports Pavillion (changed 29/11/23)***
