Saturday 1 st January 2022 – 11.00am.  4 miles.
Bentley Priory and Little Common Circular Walk.

Meeting point: Stanmore Common car park, Warren Lane Harrow. The postcode is HA7 3HQ.
Bring a snack if you wish. Complimentary mince pies and mulled wine will be served at some point during the walk. Please book in advance with the walk leader so that we can ensure that there will be adequate provision of refreshments.

Sunday 23 rd January 2022 – 11.00 am. 3.5 miles.
Walk in the Shenley area.

Meeting point: Shenley Tea Rooms, Radlett Lane, Shenley. The postcode is WD7 9DW.
Bring a picnic.

A circular walk north west of Shenley with fine views of Shenleybury and St Albans.

Leavesden Country Park Walk.

Meeting point: Car park at Leavesden Country Park, College Road. The post code WD5 0NX is nearby.

Sunday 13 th March 2022 – 11.00 am. 3 miles.
Carpenders Park and South Oxhey.

Meeting point: Car park in Gibbs Couch next to Carpenders Park station – free at time of going to print, or local roads. The postcode is WD19 5EQ.
No picnic.
Leader: David Bearfield.
Beginning in Carpenders Park we walk into South Oxhey, visit an ancient church and return alongside the railway.


Sunday 10 th April 2022 – 11.00 am. 5 miles.
Three-in-One Woodland Circular Walk at Ashridge
Meeting point: Ashridge Estate Visitor Centre car park, Moneybury Hill, Ringshall, Near Berkhamsted off B4506. The postcode HP4 1LT is nearby.

This walk skirts three of the smaller commons on the Ashridge Estate as well as crossing a variety of woodland. At this time of the year, we should see bluebells!


Sunday 8 th May 2022 – 11.00am. 6 miles.

Circular Walk from Watford Bypass to Munden Ford and back.
Meeting point: By the Porcelanosa showroom, Otterspool Way (Service Road), Watford. The postcode is WD25 8HL.

A circular walk from the Watford Bypass via the Munden Estate to Munden Ford, then back via the Wall Hall Estate and Berrygrove Woods.

A Circular Walk in the Chess Valley.

Meeting point: Chenies village near the church. The postcode is WD3 6EG.

From Chenies we cross the Chess valley heading for Belsize Village. We then make our way to Flaunden via the Hertfordshire way and Chiltern way. We return to Chenies by once more crossing the Chess valley. Classic English countryside.

Midsummer Solstice Circular Walk through Finch Lane fields

A circular walk of around three miles taking in the fields around Finch Lane.

Meeting point: The Café in King George Recreation Ground, Chiltern Avenue, WD23 4RF.
Bring a picnic

A circular walk of around five miles taking in Merry Hill, Mutton Wood, Grimsdyke, Old Redding, Harrow Common and Bushey Heath. Meet at the Café in the Park. Bring a picnic. Children under 16 to be accompanied by an adult. The walk will be led by members of the Bushey and District Footpaths Association and will take approximately three hours. No booking necessary

Circular Walk from Bushey Heath to Stanmore Common and back.

Meeting point. The Rutts car park, High Road, Bushey Heath, WD23 1ND.
Parking is currently free on Sundays.

The walk visits Stanmore Common nature walk then joins the London Loop through Little Common into the grounds of the RNOH to see an ancient Celtic obelisk. Then along Brides Way to Elstree Road. Back to the start point passing though Windmill Park on the way.


Sunday 11th September 2022 – 11.00am 4.5 miles
Bentley Priory Circular Walk.

Meeting point: Stanmore Common car park, Warren Lane Harrow. The postcode is HA7 3HQ. Buses stop close by.
Bring a picnic and optionally, some vegetables for the deer.

This walk takes you through some of the most attractive parts of the Harrow green belt centred on Bentley Priory Nature Reserve.  It also passes through Stanmore Common, Stanmore Little Common and Harrow Weald Common.

Circular Walk from Bushey Heath to Grim's Dyke and back.

Meeting point. The Rutts car park, High Road, Bushey Heath, WD23 1ND.
Parking is currently free here on Sundays.

A circular walk from Bushey Heath across Merry Hill Woodland to Grim's Dyke and back via Harrow Weald Common.


Sunday 20th November 2022 - 11:00 am. 6.5 miles.
Circular Walk Kings Langley and Chipperfield.

Meeting point: Free Car Park on Langley Hill, Kings Langley, WD4 9HD. I am hoping this will not be full on a Sunday, but if it is there may be space to park on nearby streets

The walk passes through the All Saints Church churchyard, then runs along the towpath of the Grand Union Canal.  It then climbs up the western side of the river Gade valley to reach Chipperfield Common.  The return route to Kings Langley goes near to the site of a former royal palace which gave the village its name.


Sunday 11th December 2022 – 11.00am  4 or 6 miles
Rickmansworth Lakes and Grand Union Canal

Meeting point: Café at the Rickmansworth Aquadrome.
Free Car Park on Frogmore Lane WD3 1NB.
Bring a picnic.

A peaceful walk around lakes created on what was once a busy gravel extraction site.
Mostly level ground and good paths or boardwalks.  Some small slopes and muddy patches.
Refreshments and toilets at the café. We will do a loop of just under 4 miles round the lakes to come back to the café for a picnic or you may like to purchase food and drink.  There is then an option to do a loop of approx. 2 miles along the Ebury Way and back along the canal towpath.
Note the walk and meeting point are different from the published walk programme due to unforeseen circumstances.
